Kathmandu, December 26-

Last week, the faith community received very encouraging and emboldening messages from home and abroad alike. Delivering Christmas greetings on the same platform where Minister Kirati delivered a fiery speech emboldening the faith community, business consultant Brian Wills expressed how his friends envied him when they knew he was visiting Nepal. You can read the coverage on minister Kirati’s speech here:

“Those who do not accept Christians don’t abide by the constitution” -Minister Kirati:

Revd. Brian Wills, Business Consultant and Mentor

Reverend Wills briefly shared from the scripture also, and expressed his joy at the fact that so many people came together to celebrate then seminal even which separates time- between B.C. and A.D. He quoted from Isaiah 9:6, “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

Revd. Wills mentioned about another Chinese historian who was a caravan member and who wrote that there was only one time in history that the great empires of the east united under one purpose. There were more than a thousand camels, with many ambassadors, delegates, astronomers- representing 13 kingdoms of the east, who had travelled for several weeks and months and thousands of miles to witness the King.

He referenced to the historical fact that the three Wise men from the east were only the representatives of the caravan of thousands of people who had come to see the child born as the King of the Jews. One of the caravan members was a Chinese historian who has written that there were thousands of people who came to witness the birth of Jesus, and it took more than a whole day for the caravan to enter through the gates of Jerusalem.

Another Chinese historian wrote that there was only one time in history that the great empires of the east united under one purpose. There were more than a thousand camels, with many ambassadors, delegates, astronomers- representing 13 kingdoms of the east, who had travelled for several weeks and months and thousands of miles to witness the King. Witnessing such a fanfare, king Herod was shocked and asked, who are these people?

This historical account was something pleasantly surprising to the scribe too, as it was for most of the attendees.

Minister Sudan Kirati addressing the program

Altogether, the programme was a historical one, for both the messages  by the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Mr Sudan Kirati as well as Revd. Will, and the performances by such nationally iconic celebrities like Kunti Moktan, Ananda Karki, Rajesh Rai. Also, the emcee of the programme was herself a celebrity anchor and RJ Mahima Bhattarai who excellently led the entire programme seamlessly despite so many packed sections.

Revd. Wills met senior political leaders as well as Christian politicians, media advocates and leaders, and shared his vision of creating a shared, common value system which makes peace and prosperity possible.
