Altogether 76 parties registered for PR electoral system-

Many parties absent in provinces

The Election Commission has published thelist of the political aprties fighting in the Proportional Representation system for the upcoming General Elections. Altogether 76 parties have registered for the election of House of Representative whereas Sudurpaschim Province only have as few as 50 parties registered for the Province Assembly election.

Applications from 76 different parties have been received at the office of the Election Officer, including 55 from 63 different parties in Province 1, 59 from 67 parties in Madhesh Province, and 58 petitions from 66 parties in Bagmati Province, according to Assistant Spokesperson at the EC Surya Prasad Aryal.

Likewise, 52 applications from 60 parties were received in Gandaki Province, 54 from 62 parties in Lumbini, 49 from 57 parties in Karnali Province and 58 applications from 50 parties in Sudurpaschim Province have been registered to contest in the upcoming November 20 elections.

Social Unity Party and DSA- the allince it leads- has registered for all the provinces and House of Representatives, spokesperson said.
