Egypt to defuse Israel-Gaza tensions; Iran threatens UAE

1) Tensions along Israel’s southern front with the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip continue to mount – drawing Egypt into the picture, in an attempt to defuse the situation. 2) Iran warns the United Arab Emirates not to allow Israel into the region; insisting that neither Washington nor Jerusalem would guarantee Abu Dhabi’s security and prosperity. 3) The United States vowed to trigger snap-back sanctions on Iran after failing to extend a U.N. arms embargo on the Islamic Republic.
