Time for Fence sitting and Bush beating may well be over-
The Moment of Truth draws near!
Lalitpur, February 13-
First off with a rivetting piece.
T. S. Eliot famously wrote in his rather lengthy (elegiac) poem “The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock”:
There will be time, there will be time
To prepare a face to meet the faces that you meet;
There will be time to murder and create, 
And time for all the works and days of hands
That lift and drop a question on your plate;
Time for you and time for me,
And time yet for a hundred indecisions,
And for a hundred visions and revisions,
Before the taking of a toast and tea…
Do I dare
Disturb the universe?
In a minute there is time
For decisions and revisions which a minute will reverse…
And indeed there will be time
To wonder, “Do I dare?” and, “Do I dare?”

Oh how befitting the verses above seem to describe the curent muddled and maddening religio-political scene in Nepal, especilly in the Christian coommunity!
As Aristotle remarked, “You will never do anything in this world without courage. It is the greatest quality of the mind next to honor.” He was absolutely right, for in the absence of this one cardinal virtue of courage, other virtues cannot work- as the person cannot act any decisively and caves in or compromises under duress.
This has applied no less in the context of Nepali minority Christian community- or at least this has been my impression lately.
On the one hand, some murky characters have been duping the community in broad daylight, and the supposedly educated section, the leadership of the communuty has kept mum. No, they have rather given these shrewd players more and more free rein!
On the other hand, some faction has been brandishing the name of the Savior, claiming itself to be the Messiah!
And whatever retsraint, civiity, political line and ideological clarity has been reached by yet another entity has largely been robbed of the due limelight it deserves.
Now, many are cheerleading the fact that one such fraudulent character has set up a political entity- it will be anotger savior of the minority community.
May be, decisions can be revised and course corrected with more hindsight and experience. But to keep on fence sitting and bush beating may prove fatal for the community!
Now is the time for one to take a stand and call a spade a spade.
And now is the moment of truth- those babling nonsense and cheating the community will be held accountable, exposed, questioned and shamed publicly! Unless they repent and turn, they will churn and burn!
