Vigilance Demonstration against Same Sex marriage, Abortion and Sex change organized-

Political, Religious and Civic Leaders come together for Life, Family, Righteousness and Nation

Kathmandu, November 5-

A Vigilance Demonstration was held at the heart of the capital on October 30, warning the government, activists and the stakeholders about serious moral and social issues like unlimited abortion, same sex union recognition as marriage, and gender-affirming surgery.

Organized by APNP – Aamool Pariwartan Nagarik Party- आमूल परिवर्तन नागरिक पार्टी नेपाल – (Transformative Civic Party) in solidarity with various other organizations, religious leaders, media personalities, activists and leaders, the demonstration was one of the major protest against the agenda being rapidly legalized and normalized in the country.

Himself a media and civic society activist, the emcee presented the rationale for organizing such a protest, and then led the attendees into reciting slogans focused on life, family and morality. Then the party chair Bharat Giri addressed the progarmme, asking where the religious communities are at such issues. Dr. KB. Rokaya, former National Human Rights Commissioner, then addressed the assembly bringing international updates and warning the very existence of Nepal as a nation may be under threat if same sex marriage is granted to all, nationals and foreigners.

Representing the Muslim faith, Nepal Islami Sangh Chair Mulana Nazarul Hussein Falahi strongly condemned the immorality being propagated in the name of human rights. Such things are unknown even in the base animal kingdom, we are noble creation, how can we endorse such sinful and curse-bringing activities, he asked.

.Similarly, Civic Concern Nepal Executive Director Dr. Jomesh Wod showed his solidarity, noting the issue is not only of a particular party of group, but is of common concern, of civic concern. Where will be demographically, if abortion continues, and same sex relationships are legalized as marriage, he asked.

Voice of Fetus board chair person Mrs. Susan Kunwar Paudel remarked that every life is precious from the womb, and must be protected; abortion is not the solution to women problem and is not a health care. Then Sundar Dhoka Saathi Sewa representative Punya Pratap Shah addressed the assembly, noting life must be protected, and that immorality like same sex marriage should not be legalized and accepted.

APNP Chair Dal Mardan Kami then questioned how the Supreme Court single judge can issue such a directive to the government to register same sex marriage; can the judge accept such behavior in his own children? “We are not against any people group, like the Third gender or Other or the Intersex, but same sex marriage is not acceptable at all,” he clarified.

Here are some of the slogans and the content of the speech:

Greetings, Jai Citizens. While using this greetings, I was thinking: the greeting is also a matter of our civilization and identity. No child can be born without marriage between a man and a woman, no child can be born if they are aborted, no person is capable of having a child after sex change. An unborn child cannot become a citizen. When there are no more citizens, our nation, the country will not exist either…In other words, the issue that we are concerned about and are forced to warn about today is connected with the existence of our life, family, society and nation, and human civilization as a whole!

Now, in our society, as well as in the world, the speed at which certain distortions and anomalies have increased, has created a situation where it is impossible to remain silent about them. Although there is real discrimination, oppression, identity, self-respect, freedom which are natural, we are for real identities, we are against discrimination.

But when such radical, potentially destructive laws and policies are introduced, should th

e involvement of the society, the family, and the voice of the citizens be not recognized? Isn’t this an issue that concerns all of us? Is there a scheme to destroy our nation by playing to the tunes of some murky foreign donors for the whim or benefit of a few, handful ideologues and activists? Dear ones, there is a serious suspicion that the very existence of the nation is being attacked…

Slogans:

Choose life. Your mom did!

Human rights begin in the womb!

We are the voice of the voiceless

Rights begin when life begins!

Equal rights for all!

Abortion is not a cure for disabilities!

The first human right is the right to live!

Life begins at conception, not perception!

Babies are people!

Everyone deserves a birthday!
