Media persons sensitized on Same Sex Union Legalization as Marriage-

Last week Civic Concern Nepal (CCN) organized a Press Meet and Interaction Program on the issue of same sex marriage. Some 30 plus media persons were sensitized on the issue, its ethical and practical ramifications and impact on the family, society, nation and human civilization as a whole.

The speakers included former Human Rights Commissioner Dr. KB Rokaya, Civic Concern Nepal Chair Dr Sundar Thapa, media person and analyst Prakash Rokaya, and CCN ED Jomesh Wod.

At the end of the program, some time was given to the media persons to ask questions, where they raised the concern about the rights of the third gender people. The third gender or intersex is a different category from the homosexual or same sex, sex transitioners altogether, the speakers clarified.

Stakeholders have said that recognizing same-sex marriage in Nepal is a conspiracy of foreigners to destroy social and cultural unity. They also accused the Supreme Court of recognizing same-sex marriage under the influence of foreigners.
Dr. KB Rokaya, a former member of the National Human Rights Commission, said that it was unfortunate that same-sex marriages were registered in Nepal based on the interim order given by a single bench of the Supreme Court.
Civic Concern Nepal Chair and social activist Dr. Sundar Thapa said that there is widespread public pressure to stop the agenda imposed by foreigners from being given legal recognition to weaken Nepal. Thapa made it clear that they are not negative towards gay citizens, but they are against the foreign conspiracy to destroy the natural, social, cultural, religious values and the natural family.
CPN (UML) youth leader and analyst Prakash Rokaya alleged that after the plan to divide and weaken the country by creating discord between Nepal and Nepali for centuries did not succeed, now homosexual relations are a conspiratorial foreign plan. He also demanded that the main political parties of Nepal should come up with an official opinion in this regard.
Dr. Jomesh Wad, the executive director of CCN, expressed his concern over the recent rise in horrific distortions such as same-sex marriage, feticide and gender reassignment in Nepal. Wad said that 90,000 fetuses are killed every year and said, “Abortions are becoming more common. Gender change and same-sex marriage are the agendas that weaken Nepal’s population and weaken the society and the country. It should be canceled at any cost.”
Such programs need to be held for sensitizing the media fraternity, commented one of the participants, Bishwash Thapa of BTV Nepal. The program was emceed by CCN Secretary Bidur Adhikari who laid the background at the very outset by reading out the headlines from a national daily which had covered the same sex marriage registration between an American and a Nepali male.

He argues that children also have human rights, primarily to grow up in the love and care of their mothers and fathers.

A lesbian can be an extraordinary mother; But she cannot become a father. A gay man can be an excellent father; But she cannot be a mother. Children need both parents, and they have the right to receive the love and protection of both parents.

Children also have human rights, which primarily include being able to grow up in the love and care of their mothers and fathers. This is not possible in same-sex relationships.
Children have a natural right to their mother and father.
Legal rights against natural rights: Laws made by people’s demands, campaigns, and force cannot and cannot reverse the needs of those natural rights.
Natural rights are those that do not depend on the laws or customs of a particular culture.
Legal rights are granted to a person by the legal system.
Justice is served only when legal rights are superseded by natural rights.
Children’s rights are another aspect of parental rights. The freedom and independence of the parents cannot affect the life and emotional health of the children.
In relation to parents and children, their rights are symbiotic; The inherent right of a mother and father to raise their child is linked to the fact that they are the only two persons responsible for bringing their child into existence.

The United Nations has enshrined the right of children to be known and loved by both parents in the Convention on the Rights of the Child – the most widely ratified human rights treaty in history.
• 90 percent of homeless and runaway youth are fatherless. Homelessness and life on the run are common gateways to sex trafficking.
Horrible statistics:
• 70% to 85% of prison inmates grew up without a father.
• 63 percent of teens who commit suicide have absent fathers.
• 71% of pregnant teenagers come from fatherless homes.
Ultimately, from all perspectives, same-sex relationships prove harmful, unproductive, unproductive, and destructive.
