Radical Change Civic Party holds Vigilance Demonstration-
Calls on the government to protect lives and prosecute criminals
Kathmandu, September 6-
The newly merged and formed Aamool Pariwartan Nagarik (Radical Change Civic) Party organized a Vigilance, Protest and Demonstration programme, symbolically representing the voice of the women and girl victims of rape and violence, caste discrimination, and religious persecution.
Held at the heart of the heart of the capital, within 100-150 meters from the office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the Supreme Court, the Attorney General and Bar Association, as well as the Army Headquarters, the programme was one of its kind in that it addressed political, ethical, religious and social issues all at once by bringing various groups, fronts, parties and societies together for a common cause.
The speakers ranged from APNP (RCCP) Chairs Dal Mardan Kami and Bharat Giri, Senior Leader Kamala Hemchuri, Ex-Home State Minister Hon’ble Rizwan Ansari, Pahichanwadi Morcha (Identity Front) General Secretary Khagendra Makhim, Caste Watch Network Founding Director Dr. Mitra Pariyar, Dalit rights activist Khagendra Sunar, human rights activist JB Ghale, and Civic Concern Nepal Director Dr. Jomesh Wod.
While other speakers addressed and drew the attention of the government against rape and murder, caste discrimination and attacks on churches and other places of worship, CCN E.D. Jomesh Wod raised concern about the ethical deterioration in the society where same sex union is being legalized, gender-affirming surgeries are carried out and therefore procreation of the next generation is seriously cut short.
The programme was emceed by Bidur Adhikari, Deputy General Secretary of APNP, and the Chief of Agenda Identification and Programme/Campaign Mobilization.
