Bodhisattva Bihar distribute relief to 100 flood hit families-

Need is still dire- Dr Piya Ratna Maharjan

Kathmandu, November 10-

Today 100 most needy families in the slum area at Balkhu were provided with essential grocery items as relief support by Bodhisattva Bihar, coordinated by interfaith leader Dr. Piya Ratna Maharjan, and political and civic activist Bidur Adhikari.

The flood during September last week was a shocking, devastating one that affected more than thirty district across the nation.

Still many more families are in need, esp. as the cold is slowly growing an causing serious concern. The local authorities seems to have a cotton gaged ear to the apparent needs of the poor and needy.”

Even when two months have passed since the flood, the government has not been able to play a role in providing proper relief and rehabilitation, and since the first phase of the relief was over, this second phase has started, Dr. Pyaratna Maharjan informed the correspondents.

The locals were very relieved with the much needed support. Mr Adhikari the scribe himself went there last months after watching the needs of the most vulnerable families as published by the YouTubes like NetPati TV, BTV Khabar, A kHabar TV etc., so thanked them for spreading the information in the first place.

Still many more families are in need, esp. as the cold is slowly growing an causing serious concern. The local authorities seems to have a cotton gaged ear to the apparent needs of the poor and needy. At such times whatever the activists, media and social workers have done has greatly relieved the needy people.
